Community Action Isle of Wight

COVID-19 Helpline

01983 823600

Seven days a week

9am – 5pm

New helpline to support those at risk, the Island’s most vulnerable residents affected by the coronavirus (Covid-19) self-isolation measures.

People who do not have a local network of friends or family to support them while they are self-isolating or social distancing can call for support.

The helpline has been put in place by the Isle of Wight Council in partnership with the Island’s voluntary networks, including Community Action Isle of Wight, Citizens Advice Isle of Wight and Age UK Isle of Wight, to support those who meet the coronavirus ‘vulnerable’ criteria.

Welcome To South Wight Medical Practice

The South Wight Medical Practice is a non limited partnership between Drs Hill, Kitova, Snow and Azim-Araghi and serves the villages of Brook, Brighstone, Chale, Chale Green, Chillerton, Godshill, Niton, Rookley, Shorwell and Whitwell. The practice area is shown on the Patient Registration page of the website. There are three surgery premises, namely Niton, Brighstone and Godshill, and we are able to dispense medications to our patients if they live more than one mile from the nearest chemist.

Improving access to general practice: evening and weekend appointments now available

Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a GP or nurse on weekday evenings (after 6.30pm) or at the weekends (on Saturday and Sunday). Appointments will either take place at this practice or at another NHS setting nearby. Talk to the practice receptionist to find out more or book an appointment.

By March 2019 everyone in England will benefit from access to general practice appointments in the evenings and weekends at a time that is most convenient to them. This is part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and get the best possible outcomes for patients. Further information is available at
